If you want to convert .nrg file to .iso file you can use nrg2iso tool to create this. nrg2iso is a program that extracts ISO9660 data from Nero “.nrg” CD-ROM image files.

Inkscape Vector Graphics Editor in Ubuntu

Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, or Xara X using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format. Supported SVG features include shapes, paths, text, markers, clones, alpha blending, transforms, gradients, patterns, and grouping. Inkscape also supports Creative Commons meta-data, node editing, layers, complex path operations, bitmap tracing, text-on-path, flowed text, direct XML editing, and more. It imports formats such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, and others and exports PNG as well as multiple vector-based formats.

Special Characters made easier in Ubuntu

If you are using Ubuntu Dapper Drake, you could press CTRL+SHIFT and then the unicode for special characters so you didn’t have to copy and paste them from the Character palette every time you wanted to use them.

phpSysInfo is a customizable PHP script that parses various files in /proc and displays them. It will display information about system facts like Uptime, CPU, Memory, SCSI, IDE, PCI, Ethernet, Floppy, and Video. It now has full internationalization support along with customizable templates.

Manage SSH Tunnels with Gnome SSH Tunnel Manager

gSTM, the Gnome SSH Tunnel Manager, is a front-end for managing SSH-tunneled port redirects. It stores tunnel configurations in a simple XML format. The tunnels, with local and remote port redirections, can be created, deleted, modified, and individually started and stopped through one simple interface. It is useful for anyone wanting to securely access private services over an encrypted tunnel.

Keeping your System clock current, automatically via Network Time Protocol (NTP)

NTP, the Network Time Protocol, is used to keep computer clocks accurate over the Internet, or by following an accurate hardware receiver which interprets GPS, DCF-77, NIST or similar time signals.

ntpdate is a simple NTP client which allows a system’s clock to be set to match the time obtained by communicating with one or more servers.

Install Exaile media player and Enjoy Your Music in Ubuntu

Exaile is a media player aiming to be similar to KDE’s AmaroK, but for GTK+. It incorporates many of the cool things from AmaroK (and other media players) like automatic fetching of album art, handling of large libraries, lyrics fetching, artist/album information via the wikipedia, last.fm support, optional iPod support (assuming you have python -gpod installed).
