Hi everybody,Iam a beginner with Linux and I installed Ubuntu a few weeks ago.

From here and therein the net, I was able to install every single program I wanted (and yes, from the command line) but I seem to have a few problems now with Thunderbird.

Dar is a shell command that makes backup of a directory tree and files. Its features include splitting archives over several files, CDs, ZIPs, or floppies, compression, full or differential backups, strong encryption, proper saving and restoration of hard links and extended attributes, remote backup using pipes and external command (such as ssh), and rearrangement of the "slices" of an existing archive. It can now run commands between slices, encrypt archives, and quickly retrieve individual files from differential and full backups. Dar also has external GUI like kdar for Linux,thanks to the well documented API.

Apache top is a curses-based realtime utility to display information from a running copy of Apache.It is modelled after the standard ‘top' utility, and displays information such as the requests pers second, bytes per second and the most popular URLs displayed.It must be run from a machine running Apache, as it works by processing the logfiles found in /var/log/apache.

If you are using Ubuntu Dapper Drake, you could press CTRL+SHIFT and then the unicode for special characters so you didn't have to copy and paste them from the Character palette every time you wanted to use them.
