I have been looking for a way to write the special Danish characters and this compose key is the perfect solution.

Special Danish characters
RightWin + a + a produces å
RightWin + a + e produces æ
RightWin + o + / produces ø

I also found the following useful

RightWin + o + o produces °

What you do now is:

press and release those keys,
enter your Unicode code for the special char.
press ENTER

press and don’t release those keys,
press U
enter your Unicode code.
release keys

“If you are using Ubuntu Dapper Drake, you could press CTRL+SHIFT and then the unicode for special characters”

What you do now is CTRL+SHIFT+U

Then release those keys.

Then enter your Unicode code.
