I would suggest try to reinstall IEs4linux

First Remove ies4linux, do the following in your home directory or from where you are trying to run ies4linux

rm .ies4linux

rm bin/

After removing ies4linux and now you need to install ies4linux.

hope this helps

You've just saved me a huge amount of time and likely headaches. I run ubuntu, but have to work with Microsoft and most (if not all) their sites require IE. I've been looking a virtual machines to get the pre-existing xp partition that came on the machine running as a virtual guest, but was having problems. The only thing I really needed was IE, so this is absolutely perfect. Thanks very much for this!

Hi,
I am having a problem trying to install ubuntu linux on my Windows 98 laptop. First I get a screen that says:
No Eithernet Card Detected, but a FireWire Interface is present. It's possible, though unlikely, that with the right FireWire hardware connected to it, this could be your primary Eithernet interface. Do you intend to use FireWire Ethernet? YES/NO

Then, regardless of if I choose YES or No, I get this error:

! Confifure the Network
No Netword Interfaces Detected
No netword interfaces were found. The installation system was unable to find a network device.
You may need to load a specific module for your network interface card if you have one. For this go back to the network hardware detection step. GO BACK/CONTINUE

If I go back I get the same errors all over again. If I continue the computer tries to start up the partitioner and gets stuck at 52%

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank You!

Installed IE6 on Suse 10.2 within few time.

Great stuff, works perfectly BUT:

Font support is messy, font's to big, font weight not precise...

There my question:

Is it the interpretation of the IE which is failing, or the missing windows fonts on Linux?

All in all... great stuff guys. Thanks for this one!
Your work was great!

Installed it, but I am having a small problem. I need IE for one website, which requires IE, and Java to run. When I run IE (using Ubuntu 6.06), and log into the webisite I need to use, it keeps trying to install JRE 1.4.2_12. If I let it, it seems to complete, then just sits there. Am I missing something? If this is a dumb question, I am very new to linux, having converted only about 2 weeks ago.

Tried to set it, face the problem that the program does not find any valid Internet connection! Internet connection works fine in Ubuntu, but not under wine! Installed several Windows programs that do not need Internet and those work fine. But any attempt to get an upgrade or to access Internet via a wine based program tells me that I have no Internet connection. How to enable Wine to allow Internet connection?
Any advise welcome.

wine: Critical section 7bffe8a0 wait failed at address 0x7efaddf0 (thread 0009), starting debugger...
WineDbg starting on pid 0x8

But is IEsforLinux accurate? At www.plockton.com, I know that the search/go button is on the right of the field in Windows IE6. With IEsforLinux (Edgy Ubuntu) it's below. If I can't rrust it to render exactly, what's the point? (I have MS Core Fonts installed.)

Installed it on Ubuntu 6.06, works like a charm.
All I need still is a way to get IE4linux to play Media Player streams. My local TV stations only broadcast on the web in Windows Media Player format. Can't get that to work in FireFox so am hoping to get it going through IE4linux.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,

Guus

Installed it on Ubuntu 6.06, works like a charm.
All I need still is a way to get IE4linux to play Media Player streams. My local TV stations only broadcast on the web in Windows Media Player format. Can’t get that to work in FireFox so am hoping to get it going through IE4linux.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
