Debian Development team released Debian GNU/Linux version 5.0 (codenamed Lenny) after 22 months of constant development on 14th February 2009.

Motivation

I like Debian for its stability and predictability. And I like Ubuntu Netbook Remix for its suitability for small screen devices like the NC10. Running Ubuntu is in some sense like gambling – you never know if the next update will be a winner or a loser. So I decided to take the best of both worlds and combine Debian's predictability with the beauty of UNR. At the end I got a system which behaves exactly like I want it to: almost all special keys are supported, the automatic power management works like expected and the system is its biggest part plain Debian Lenny.

A wireless router is great when toting a computer with a wireless interface around, but moving a wired computer to another room or floor often means stringing an unsightly Ethernet cable through the house. The alternative is buying a wireless adapter, hoping that a Linux driver is available for it (there often isn't). Even a wireless interface is no good when used out of range of the wireless router.

You need to install open-iscsi package for high performance, transport independent iSCSI implementation under Debian Linux.  You need Debian Linux  with kernel version 2.6.16, or later.
